MyFinancialRecovery.net is a blog that is intended to share my experience while recovering my finances and getting rid of debt. I am currently 29 years old and have been in debt since I graduated from college in 2001. I made several mistakes and ended up with all of my student loans in either default or collections. Since I started working to regain control of my finances I have rehabilitated all the defaulted loans and paid off a number of smaller loans.
I currently have loans in good standing with the US Department of Education and Sallie Mae that account for the majority of my debt (the margin is narrowing quickly here though). I also have a set of five loans in collections that I have been unable to clean up over the past five years.
My current intention for this blog is to share with everyone out there my experience with eliminating my debt, increasing my savings and things I discover or learn along the way. In addition I hope to also write out more on trying to live frugally, cut out expenses and increase income.
If you want to drop me a line I can be reached at matt@myfinancialrecovery.net .
